The sportsbook corner
WePlay has a sportsbook in the same account as its poker room, on the same USDT balance. What we know about it, how betting odds work, and a calculator for combos.

WePlay's sportsbook
- The Sports tab sits in the WePlay lobby next to Poker, Casino and Promo. It opens after you sign in, so we list only what we have seen on our own slips.
- Football is there, with markets such as the match winner and both teams to score.
- A combo is a bet on several results at once. On the combos we placed, the slip multiplied the combined odds by 1.08.
- It is the same balance as the poker: a deposit made for the cash tables can be bet on a match, and a win can go straight back to the tables.
Two of our slips from a Champions League evening, with the odds and the boost, are in our post on CryptoPoker.blog.

How odds work
Decimal odds tell you what comes back for each dollar you stake, the stake included. At 2.50, a $10 bet returns $25 if it wins: your $10 and $15 on top.
The odds also carry a chance: one divided by the odds. At 2.50 that is 40%. The bet is worth making only if you think the true chance is higher than the price says.
Add up the chances of every outcome in one market and you get more than 100%. A match at 2.10 for home, 3.40 for the draw and 3.60 for away comes to 104.8%. The 4.8% over the hundred is the bookmaker's margin, what it keeps on average. The odds converter works it out for any market.
Singles and combos
A combo multiplies the odds of its legs, and it pays only when every leg wins. Three legs at 2.00, 1.80 and 2.20 make 7.92, or 8.55 with a boost of 1.08. The chance multiplies the same way: by the prices, all three win 12.6% of the time. The margin multiplies too, so a long combo carries a bigger margin than any of its legs.

Money for betting
- Decide the amount for betting before the match, and keep it apart from the poker bankroll, even though the balance is one.
- Stake the same small share on each bet, such as 1% to 2% of the betting money, so a bad weekend does not empty it.
- Never raise the stake to win back a loss.
- Bet only what you can afford to lose. Play responsibly says where to get help.
