Stake finder
Which cash stake fits the money you keep for poker? Type your bankroll, pick the game, and the finder gives the highest stake at each room where you have the full buy-ins you want to keep.
How it counts
A full buy-in is the most you can sit down with at a table: 100 big blinds in Hold'em, and 100 or 200 in Omaha depending on the room. The finder multiplies it by the number of buy-ins you keep and gives the highest stake your bankroll covers. It starts from these counts, and you can change them:
- Hold'em, 25 full buy-ins. A common rule of thumb for no-limit Hold'em cash games is 20 to 50.
- Bomb pots, 30. More money goes in before the flop, so the swings are bigger.
- Omaha, 40. Hands run closer, and the swings are bigger again.
These are rules of thumb, not guarantees. A downswing can run longer than any count. Decide before you play when you move up and when you move down, and move down without waiting when the bankroll drops under the count for your stake.
The stakes behind it
The finder uses the table types in the lobbies: Cash games at WePlay and Cash games at Basepoker list every one, with its buy-in.
